RAINBOW BRIDGE
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....Author unknown...
My Beloved Baby Girl
I had to send you off today to the place of no pain and no worries. And although my selfish human nature wanted to keep you around forever, I had to stop your suffering. Yes, I know that you knew something was up. I held you tightly while you went to sleep, hoping to comfort you one last time. Carrie, you were the best friend I could have ever dreamed of. When I met you almost 13 years ago, you were at the Humane Society with many, many other potential companions. You gently came up to the cage door and looked right through to my soul. Then I met you outside and your nickname "Wigglebutt" was born. You are the happiest, most loving and patient dog I've ever known. You gave me and everyone you met that warm, loving feeling you exuded. I can never thank you enough for being my friend. You brought something to my life that I can't describe. I pray there is a Rainbow Bridge and we'll play in the grass again. Don't be afraid of Kai the cat. He won't be mean to you. Tess and Duchess will show you around, as will Fluff, Duff, Biscuit, Big Pat, Pitty Pat and many others. There is a horse there named Rustler and you also need not be afraid of him as he is the most gentle guy there ever was. I will always love you baby girl and carry you with me forever.
